The Solenoid Brake Drum is an essential component of an electromagnetic braking system used in various industrial applications for controlled stopping and holding of rotating equipment. It consists of a cast iron brake drum combined with a solenoid-operated actuator, which applies or releases the brake through electromagnetic action.

When electrical power is supplied, the solenoid pulls the brake shoes away from the drum, allowing free rotation. Upon power failure or switch-off, spring force presses the shoes onto the drum, generating friction to safely stop or hold the load ensuring fail-safe operation.
