AC Brake Description

An AC Brake is an electromagnetic braking device designed to provide rapid and fail-safe stopping of rotating machinery in industrial applications. Operated on alternating current (AC) supply, these brakes are typically used in conjunction with AC motors to ensure safety, positioning accuracy, and controlled stopping.

Working Principle:

AC Brakes operate on the electromagnetic principle. When the AC power is supplied to the brake coil, it generates a magnetic field that pulls the armature plate against the spring force, releasing the brake. When power is cut off, the spring force pushes the friction disc against the brake surface, stopping the rotating part immediately.
